M.A. Candidate in Counselling Psychology | Creator | Writer

From the fast-paced world of emergency medicine to the nuanced complexities of mental health, my career has been shaped by a deep commitment to understanding and addressing human suffering. With six years as a Primary Care Paramedic, I gained firsthand experience in crisis intervention, trauma response, and the psychological impact of acute stress. Witnessing the invisible wounds carried by both patients and first responders led me to shift my focus toward mental health research and clinical practice.

I believe that dedication, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge are the foundations of meaningful work. Whether in academia, research, or direct client care, I approach every challenge with a strong work ethic, a deep sense of responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. My background has instilled in me the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations, think critically in the face of complexity, and approach each individual’s story with both compassion and intellectual curiosity.

Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I am particularly interested in moral injury, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the intersection of trauma and identity. My academic work reflects a commitment to evidence-based practice and the translation of complex psychological research into accessible, applicable tools for individuals and professionals alike. In addition to my studies, I am dedicated to writing—both in an academic capacity and through my blog, where I explore themes of resilience, healing, and psychological well-being.

My future goals include continuing my education, engaging in research that advances trauma-informed care, and developing innovative resources that make psychological insights more accessible to the public. I believe that knowledge should not remain confined to academic journals; instead, it should be transformed into practical tools that empower individuals and communities.

At the core of my work is a simple but profound belief: understanding is the first step toward healing. Whether through research, writing, or clinical practice, my mission is to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and lived experience, ensuring that mental health support is both effective and accessible.
